Lucky Joes - Jan 27th, 2006

Great show last night, we had a blast, hope all of you that got to check us out had a lot of fun as well.

We knew the night was going to go well once we ran into George Lucas at the Rio and got a picture with him for Pete's birthday. Then after a quick tournament of bubble hockey (Waido was the uncontested champion, although Wza's goalie on team USA stonewalled many of his shots) we came back to Joe's to start the night.

Our first set was very low key and we played several songs that we've never done live before, including "Worth the Wait", one of the tracks off of our CD. Thanks to many of you who recognized it and appreciated that we played it. It always makes us feel good when we get compliments from all of you on our own stuff. Then the second set it got crazy. Thanks to all of you rocking out on the dance floor during our entire 2 hour + second set. We had a blast - hope you did too.

Our next for sure gig is February 11th at the Rio in Greeley, CO. Hope to see a lot of you there!

Live at Lunch recap

So yesterday Waido & Friends did Live at Lunch on KRFC, Fort Collins local grassroots radio station. It was a great time and was the first time that I'd been in the studio. About half a year ago Waido and I made a trip down to Greeley for one of their local AM stations and did about a 10 minute interview promoting our show later that week at the Greeley Rio. We didn't play any songs but the interview was a lot of fun, and afterwards we thought we should have had it recorded because we were just going back and forth with some great stuff that had the hosts cracking up.

This time on the radio was much more all about the music. We were able to play a couple songs cued up from the CD, more songs that can be found on the CD live, but more importantly we were able to showcase most of the new stuff that we've been working on and got a recording of it.

The studio itself is a great room, and they've got a lot of really nice equipment for a local radio station. Phillip, our interviewer, was a great guy and it was a nice relaxing hour that seemed to fly by. For those of you who caught it, hope you really liked our new stuff, and for those of you who weren't able to catch the set, come on out to our shows and you'll definitely be able to hear them then!

Thanks once again to KRFC! That's it for now,
Dave :)

Live at Lunch on KRFC

So these last couple days have been full of practicing for our live performance / interview on the radio today! We're all really excited for it and have been working on some new songs that we haven't even performed at a show yet. We'll be playing a lot of our stuff from the CD, but a more bare bones easy going version of it. Pete is just going to be on the djembe and shaker so we're going to have more of a hanging out in the living room sound. Should be a lot of fun, really looking forward to it.

If you're in the area, tune in today (Tuesday Jan, 24th), to 88.9 FM from 12:00 to 1:00 and hear us live!

I'll let you know how it turns out later,
Dave :)

CD info!

Right.

I'm going to try to upkeep this blog a little better than I have been recently. Mostly because I just got a new computer and it's so much easier now. So after this entry (which will be long with several different things that have been going on) I'll try harder to stay on top of things.

In case you haven't heard:

THE CD IS OUT! Our debut album "Fellowship of the Flood" was released on December 20th and has been getting rave reviews all over. If you don't have it yet you can pick it up at the following locations:

The Finest Tapes and Records: Campus West, Fort Collins, CO,
ABCD's: Old Town Fort Collins, CO

- search for Michael Waido

We also sell them at any live shows, as well as I will sell them to you if you happen to see me sometime.

If you haven't heard us yet, you can check out some of the tracks from the CD at:

We've also been working on a lot of new songs and hopefully will start working on our second CD before you all get sick of the first one. (But to do that, we need to make our money back, so buy the CD and tell your friends to buy it too.)

Hopefully with this CD and all of our work on sending out promo packs we will be getting more shows in town and a lot more shows out of town. So if you're a fan living somewhere outside of Fort Collins or even outside of the state of Colorado, let us know where you are and if there's any good venues around you and with luck you might get to see us in your home town!

That's it for now, keep checking back for new updates!

Dave
